Evelyn and Alissa’s Birthday Pledge
For her birthday, Alissa’s only wish was to raise $500 for Mission Life, an organization that has become near and dear to her heart. After a mission trip to Rwanda and a growing desire to give back, while also showing her daughter, Evelyn, what it means to be generous and loving, Alissa decided to make a simple pledge. Her goal was to raise $500 because if she hit her goal those funds would go to sponsor a child for a whole year.
Well, she hit her goal and more. After only a few days of sharing her message on Facebook with her pledge, she was able to raise over $1,000 for Mission Life! Not only is she changing the life of a child, she is giving everyone the opportunity to be a part of creating an impact. Evelyn and Alissa are wonderful examples of what it means to be a #ChangeMaker.

Mission Life Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing under-resourced children an opportunity to overcome life’s obstacles through a unique sponsorship program. Children in different parts of the world receive daily social formation support through spiritual, intellectual, and physical development to improve the quality of their lives.
The sponsorship program provides children with:
• one nutritious hot meal per day.
• before- and after-school program, tutoring and homework help (Monday through Friday, plus weekend activities)
• the teaching of Christian principles through Scripture, daily devotionals, and prayer time, to guide them in the development of Christian principles
• school fees and supplies, uniforms, and shoes at the beginning of the school year
• identifying and empowering artistic talents and abilities
• sports
• family integration (teaching skills to parents)
• development programs and workshops for family integration, community development, to change their social landscape, forming principles and values in their lives
